A MAN WITH A PLAN
Beach came back Sunday clear-
ly determined to make amends
for what he saw as a lost op-
portunity in race one. He wasn't
going to let that happen again in
race two on Sunday as he man-
aged to take the lead early and
then stretch it—winning by 2.7
seconds over his teammate Ger-
loff, who was some five seconds
ahead of Saturday's race winner
Josh Herrin. Herrin barely beat
M4 Suzuki's David Anthony after
a heated last-lap battle.
"I just wanted to put the race
in my own hands and just go
for it," Beach said. "Garrett
[Gerloff] and Josh [Herrin] were
there and I was just riding off
my pit board trying to just make
my gap bigger and bigger and
then maintain it. It was awe-
some. Hats off to Garrett for
racing with a broken bone. I
know what that feels like and
he's riding really well."
The race for the final podium
spot was intense. Anthony
David Anthony (25)
was just shy of
the podium, while
Garrett Gerloff (31)
toughed it out to
earn two podium
finishes with a
broken pinky.
