Josh Hayes is generally happy with the series under MotoAmerica leadership. The one area he be- lieves they've slightly missed the mark is the way the Superbike/ Superstock 1000 classes are be- ing implemented. "It's confusing to fans," Hayes said of the arrangement where the classes are intermingled, but scored separately. "I think if a Superstock rider finishes third over- all as an example, they should be on the Superbike podium—they've earned it." Hayes feels an arrange- ment like MotoGP's open class or the former EVO class in World Su- perbike would be a better way to structure the class. "Give them sep- arate points and championship, but also give them full Superbike points and all the benefits of racing in the Superbike class." SUPERBIKE/SUPERSTOCK 1000 Hayes' VIR sweep (center) cut his teammate Beaubier's (right) championship lead in half.
