2016 VICTORY MAGNUM X-1
FIRST RIDE
P42
is this supposed to be relaxing
when your better half is con-
stantly trying to pull themselves
up a hill while getting jackham-
mered in the jewels? After 600
miles of costal and mountain rid-
ing, suffice to say it'll be a while
before the wife gets back on for
another trip.
Right. Now I've got that out of
the way, let's move on.
The Victory Magnum X-1 is the
latest machine in what seems to
be an ever-expanding line-up.
For a company with two com-
peting brands under its roof,
Polaris is doing
an excellent job
in managing the
distinctly different
flavors in the two-
course Indian and
Victory degusta-
tion without your
pallet becoming
confused as to what's what. Vic-
tory is moving more towards the
hotrod realm—the X-1 being case
in point—while Indian is maintain-
ing its links with nostalgic look-
ing machines mated to modern
hardware. The X-1 comes only
in a funky black/silver/red pin
stripe color scheme (called Elec-
tric Red over Gloss Black and
Platinum), while the standard
Magnum gets three different
color schemes, including a wild
yellow and lime that looks like
the painter filled his spray gun
with a can of Monster Energy.
It gets looks.
And like the Indian Chief Vin-
The Magnum
X-1 in all its
glory. It's an
imposing
looking
machine and
one that really
turns heads.
