IN THE WIND P38 CATALINA GRAND PRIX FILM KICKS UP A GEAR T he 2010 Catalina Grand Prix will be the subject of a new feature film to be released in December, 2015. Labeled "The Catalina Grand Prix: The Race Returns," the film is the latest project from award-winning motorcy- cle documentary maker Todd Huffman and his company, Pipeline Digital Media, and will use footage compiled throughout the 2010 race. Motocross legend and ESPN announcer David Bailey will lend his vocals to the movie as the narrator. "I am so happy to finally have this opportunity to tell the story of what became a once in a life- time event for so many people— including me!" said Huffman. "This is the type of documentary film project that I know will hold such a special place in the hearts and minds of so many and it will be such an honor to bring it all the way to the checkered flag for them." Huffman will collaborate with Scott Cox and his Resmarket Agency. Scott will be responsible for strategic partner- ships, marketing and film promotion. The two have worked together in the past, most recently on the "Pen- ton: The John Penton Story" feature film. "When Todd invited me to join him on another movie making adventure, I could not say 'yes' fast enough," Cox said. "Over the years we've collaborated on a number of projects such as the Penton movie that debuted last year. So, of course I didn't hesitate. This film is extra special for me also because my team and I worked daily along- side 'Cuz'n' Vinnie Mandzak, the event promoter without whom the 2010 Catalina Grand Prix would never have happened. Todd's crew captured spectacu- lar footage and I am absolutely certain that this movie will be equally as spectacular." The film will also feature highlights of the earlier Catalina Grand Prix events of the 1950s, but its primary focus will be on the epic battle between race winner Kendall Norman and the late Kurt Caselli. Shooting for interviews will take place over the summer with the final project expected to be aired in December 2015. Catalina Grand Prix feature film set to release December of this year.
