I t appears the house that Larry H. Miller built—Miller Motors- ports Park—may be no more. Roughly 30-miles outside of Salt Lake City, Utah, the state of the art facility has hosted a number of high profile events since its 2006 inception, in- cluding World Superbike, AMA Superbike, AMA Pro Motocross, the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) and a NASCAR race. Unfortunately, it has recently been running million dollar losses that the LHM Group of Companies could not sustain. The company announced that it would not renew the release on the land in the Toole County, but it will continue to run the scheduled summer racing, go kart races, driving schools and group activities prior to the Oc- tober 31 shut down. "On behalf of my family, I would like to thank all of those who have supported the track over the years—both locally and worldwide—for their enthusiasm and use of the facility," said Larry H. Miller Group of Com- panies owner, Gail Miller via a release. It has not been revealed whether a new company will take over the running of the circuit or not. Desert News is reporting the land adjacent to the track is one of five sites being considered for a new Utah State Prison by the Utah Legislature. IN THE WIND P28 PHOTOGRAPHY BY GOLD & GOOSE POLEN RETURNS AT VIR T he upcoming round of MotoAmerica at Virginia International Raceway this weekend will see former two-time World Superbike Champion, Doug Polen, ride the Dunlop Tires Lap of Honor. He is also a World Endurance Champion and winner of the Suzuka 8 Hour in 1995 with Castrol Honda teammate Aaron Slight. Polen will ride the Dunlop Tires Yamaha YZF-R6 testbike at 11:30am on Sunday at VIR and will be on hand to sign autographs during and after the fan walk from 10:15-11:00 a.m. PHOTOGRAPHY BY GOLD & GOOSE Two-time World Champion Doug Polen to ride a lap of honor at the upcoming round of MotoAmerica at VIR on May 17.
