VOL. 52 ISSUE 19 MAY 12, 2015 P45
tage I tested a couple of weeks
ago, the X-1 gets looks like
Miranda Kerr just coming out of
the surf. People love the style,
the aggressiveness, the sheer
presence of the X-1. It's got at-
titude to burn. The front wheel
is easily the star of the show,
all black and silver and massive
in its billet glory. It sets off the
hotrod baton that's passed to
the hulking front fairing with its
built-in speakers and finally to
the whopping rear panniers,
also with audio authority builtin.
The rear wheel – even though
its pattern is the same as the
GOT A PROBLEM?
WELL, FIX IT!
OK. So I've had a bit of a bitch regard-
ing some issues here. But there are
solutions. Victory has a low seat on
offer that can be heated as well, and
the best thing is the passenger seat
isn't shaped like the Leaning Tower
of the Pyramid of Giza. But then you
lower the seat height significantly, so
for someone like me that wouldn't be
an option.
Still there's no backrest for the
passenger. The only backrest in the
accessories catalogue is for the rider,
which is almost not required consider-
ing the back of the seat is quite tall.
Secondly, there are six different
screens you can try on the X-1. So I'm
sure if I go rummaging through the
accessories catalog I'll be able to find
a solution to the buffeting issue. What I
rode is the bog-standard machine, and
something that looks as cool as an X-1
will require a bit of personalization.
When you're riding
on your own and
the speeds are
low-ish, the X-1 is a
nice thing to ride.
