TRIUMPH RIDERS
NAMED FOR
AUSTIN X GAMES
B
randon Robinson and Jake Shoemaker
will front the starter's gun for Triumph at
the upcoming X Games Harley-Davidson Flat
Track event, held at the Circuit of The Ameri-
cas in Austin, Texas, on June 4.
Latus Motors Racing/Castrol/Triumph's
Robinson looks forward to the discipline's
X Games debut, in what is an invitation-only
event.
"It's huge, not only for the athletes and
teams lucky enough to be invited, but for the
sport of flat track," said Robinson. "I can't wait
to get out there and contend for a medal."
"The X Games produces a lot of
excitement, and I have high hopes it will
do the same with flat track," said Jake
Shoemaker of the number 55 Bonneville
Performance/Castrol/Triumph team. "It's
a different venue with a different crowd,
and the track layout should suit my style.
I'm pumped to get out there."

YAMAHA RECALLS YZF- R1M
T
he bike that has put Yamaha back on top
of the Superbike pile, the YZF-R1M, will be
recalled due to issues from the rear Öhlins elec-
tronic shock absorber.
In a release from the company, Yamaha states
that machines built from January 19, 2015 to
March 23, may have been assembled with an
"improperly manufactured rear shock absorber."
Apparently the damper rod
nut on the shock may loosen,
meaning damping will be
compromised or at worst the
shock could disassemble, and
you could go down the road
big time.
Yamaha will notify the af-
fected owners and dealers
will be replacing any defective
shocks, free of charge. The
recall is expected to begin this
month. Owners may contact
Yamaha customer service at
1-800-962-7926. Yamaha says
around 350 machines were
affected by the recall.
