Jim Pomeroy enjoys the spoils of victory after winning the 250 MX GP in Belgium.
"Bimbo" won the first moto and finished fourth overall, which was good enough to
get him on the cover of Cycle News 40 years ago… Rock Hocking defended his
title at the Cal Rayborn Memorial Half-Mile in Chula Vista, California. Kenny Rob-
erts was runner-up… Carl Cranke edged out Dick Burleson for the victory at the
Bad Rock Two-Day Trial ISDE Qualifier in Weston,
Oregon… We tested the Suzuki TS400 Apache
dual sport machine. We said that the 296-pound
Suzuki "…wasn't all bad."

Suzuki's RM250 was pictured on the cover 30 years ago to accompany our
review of the Full-Floater motocrosser… David Bailey won the 10
th
round
of the AMA/Miller High Life Supercross Series at the L.A. Coliseum. In the
two-race format, Bailey went 3-2 to claim the overall. Ron Lechien and Rick
Johnson split moto wins… We covered the 24-Hours of LeMans, where the
Suzuki GSX-R750-mounted Zone Rogue Suzuki Team captured the win…
Warren Reid won the White Bros Four-Stroke
Championship at Carlsbad.

and the winner was the Suzuki GSX-R1000… We also had the first test on
the BMW R 1200 RT… Michael Scott interviewed Valentino Rossi… Juha
Salminen continued his winning ways in the GNCC Series at Loretta Lynn's…
Chad Reed capped off the 2005 Supercross Series with a win at Las Vegas,
while Suzuki's Davi Millsaps won the Dave Coombs Sr. East/West Shootout…
Stefan Everts was tops at the 500 MXGP in Namur, Belgium.

Mike Kiedrowski grabbed front-page honors for winning the 250 class at the
Hangtown National Motocross in Sacramento. Ryan Hughes made it a Kawa-
saki sweep by winning the 125 class… Alberto Puig captured his first World
Championship Road Race victory of his career and was the first Spaniard to
win in front of the home crowd… Carl Fogarty won the World Superbike round
in Hockenheim, Germany… Jess Kempkes
won his very first AMA National Trials event that
was held near San Diego, California.
