ing by the finishing line and lost
about 10 seconds," Peick said of
the race. "Reed was all over me
for about four or five laps, then
I think he started fading back;
I just rode my own race, rode
smart and ended up on the box."
FREIGHT TRAIN
Speaking of Seely, who finished
out the year third in the cham-
pionship behind Dungey and
Tomac, he couldn't rest at all
in this one. He had people all
around him the whole race after
completing the first lap in eighth
place. As a result, he looked a
little spent after the race. The
Houston Supercross winner
worked his way into fifth by the
finish, but Seely had to work
extremely hard for each one of
those positions. When he looked
back after taking the checkered
flag, he saw Josh Grant and
Blake Baggett right on his butt.
The three riders finished less
than four seconds apart. Reed,
in seventh, though, finished
another 20 seconds back. His
seventh place, however, was
good enough to secure fourth
in the championship with three
points to spare over Baggett.
Justin Barcia couldn't do
much with his 14
th
place start,
ending up in eighth, while Bray-
ton and Broc Tickle rounded out
the top 10 overall.
