VOL. 52 ISSUE 18 MAY 5, 2015 P31 FABRIZIO STANDS IN FOR TEROL AT IMOLA F our-time World Superbike race winner Michel Fabrizio will substitute for the injured Nico Terol on the Althea Ducati Racing squad at the next round of the FIM Superbike World Championship at Imola in Italy. Although Fabrizio's recent ca- reer has been difficult at times he has won a World Superbike race at Imola before, way back in 2009 when he started from pole and took his factory 1098R to the win in the second race of the day. The most recent of his 35 career World Superbike po- dium places was at Phillip Island in 2013, as part of an all-Aprilia top three alongside Sylvain Guintoli and Eugene Laverty. Fabrizio, who raced for the Althea squad when they ran Hondas in World Supersport in 2005, said, "It will be a very ex- citing experience for me, full of expectations being aware that I can finally show all my worth as a complete and competitive rider. Whatever happens it will be a success." Althea team owner Gen- esio Bevilacqua said, "Michel Fabrizio is one of the riders who has always gravitated around the Althea Team. Way back in 2005 he had already played in our Supersport team, at that time he was only nineteen, and he was already giving a hard time to well-known riders such as [Karl] Muggeridge, [Fabien] Foret and [Katsuaki] Fujiwara." Terol, who injured his hand at Assen, should be back for the Donington round in late May.
