IN THE WIND P22 GOLDEN MAKES HISTORY H RT Racing's Vicki Golden became the first female to ever qualify for the racing program in a Supercross event. She accomplished that feat at the season finale in Las Vegas, May 2, where she made it into the evening program for the 250 East/West Shootout. She needed to be in the top 40 following the day qualifiers to get in and she was 36 th out of the 41 entries. She was, how- ever, unable to qualify for the main event. "This is all so surreal right now," Golden said moments after making the cut. "Last week after East Rutherford I thought it was over. I didn't expect to come here to Vegas and we learned a few days ago that we had the opportunity, so I figured let's go out there and give it one last shot. It's been a rough sea- son and about everything that could go wrong has. "I recently learned I've been battling mono since November and it's taken about everything I have just to put in one fast lap. I've felt so tired and I haven't been doing any riding during the week. I've just showed up and raced, but this week I put in a little riding once we learned we'd be coming to Vegas and everything worked out. I've ac- complished the goal I set out to achieve this season, so now I want to just put in a couple solid laps tonight and finish the year healthy." The day before at the Las Vegas EnduroCross, she com- peted in the event's halftime show, which was a step-up competition for the upcoming Austin X Games. Golden was in the hunt to be among one of the top three qualifiers when she crashed. Although she tried to come back for her second attempt, her bike was too badly damaged to make a serious at- tempt. Vicki Golden qualified for the 250 East/ West Shootout program at the Las Vegas Supercross but failed to make the main event. LAST ROLL OF THE DICE FOR MARTIN I nternational road racing star Guy Martin has said 2015 will be his final season racing at the Isle of Man TT. Martin, who has 15 TT po- diums to his name, including seven second places, will call time on his TT career at the end of this year's festival, in what will be his final chance to grab that elusive first win. Martin's retirement from the TT has long been rumored, and the North East Lincolnshire rider confirmed the news during an in- terview at the Scunthorpe Baths Hall last week. "I'll go there whatever hap- pens… Whatever I do I'll give it 100 percent. If I go and finish 20th I still know I've done my best," Martin said. "It's the last time I'm doing it. Let's be honest, it would be mint to win. It would
