CN III VOICES L E T T E R S T O T H E E D I T O R "The reality is the regular GP racers are just flat out fast and the talent is deep." Supporting Villopoto I am shocked to read people saying Ryan Villopoto should come home, that he's not fit and should not be racing in Europe. The best thing to ever happen to MX1 is RV giving it a go. The reality is the regular GP racers are just flat out fast and the talent is deep. RV is riding well and wait a minute, he did, in fact, win one already. Thank you Ryan and Kawasaki and everyone involved to make this happen. I look forward to every GP, and RV is a hero for doing this. Go RV! David Potts Via the Internet Villopoto should quit?! Heck no! The man won an MXGP race, what more do you want? Did it ever occur to you that, maybe the MXGP riders are actually that fast? Get well, and go get em, RV! Ian Tanner San Luis Obispo, CA If all of the negative reaction to RV and his MXGP season shows us anything, it's that champions are indeed cut from a different cloth. Unlike most people, they don't quit and go home when things get tough. They just work harder. And I hardly think RV thought it would be easy. It's obvious there are problems within his program, and I hope he gets dialed in soon. But I believe that he will bring the title home if he chooses, too. Perhaps just not this year. Howard Halterman Via the Internet Supercross Tracks Thanks Cycle News for your professional journalism. I grew up (late 1960s) with Cycle News on the counter of the lo- cal motorcycle shop. I have tried to make con- structive comments to other dirt bike magazines about the poor design of Supercross tracks. Watching riders three in line waiting for their turn to get around a bermed turn, all the while the leader runs away, is not racing. Why no flat turns or sweepers to equalize the jumps to keep the races competitive? Track builders seem to agree, spectators all agree, racers even admit, "it's all about the start, " but some magazine journalists attack the messen- ger, accusing me of not even being a motorcycle rider! Don't we go to the races to see good competition? Paul Zanis Via the Internet James Stewart Still Banned A simple paperwork error shouldn't prevent a tremendous asset to the sport of AMA Moto- cross from competition. This is a huge disappointment not for James but all his fans, too. Frank Becerra Via the Internet Commit the crime, do the time! Why does this surprise anyone that his appeal was turned down? Spike LJ Blutarski Via the Internet Letters to the editor can be sent to voices@cyclenews.com. Published letters do not necessarily reflect the position of Cycle News.
