ARENACROSS
AMSOIL ARENACROSS SERIES
FINAL ROUND / MAY 2, 2015
SOUTH POINT ARENA / LAS VEGAS, NEVADA
P112
got smoke on the one side,"
Regal said. "Obviously when I
went down I looked up and his
whole bike was smoking. It was
a deal where I was like, 'He's
got to fight all the way through.'
You never know. You could
run a bike 15 laps, it's only six
minutes. So it would just depend
on how much of it was coming
out. Like I said, he put himself in
that position and blew his own
bike. It was a deal where he had
to make a move at first, I think,
because he knew I was faster,
honestly."
Regal eventually fought his
way back up to ninth on his
twisted Husqvarna, and that was
more than enough for him to
land his first-ever professional
championship—the 2015 Amsoil
Arenacross Championship.
Regal still has his eyes on
Supercross, though.
"I want to be [back] on the big
stage," Regal said. "This is a
deal where I want to try and be
the best and race the best. I feel
like Supercross is another level
and I honestly feel like I can be
competitive in that series with
the right opportunity. Obviously
I'm looking at all avenues and
what's best for my career. I feel
like this year was a huge build-
ing block for me. To walk away
with the Championship, would
be cool to run the number one
next year, but I wouldn't hesitate
a second to end up in Super-
cross." CN
