race but crashed his mountain
bike Thursday afternoon, leaving
him with a big chunk of flesh
missing from his hand. Bogle
simply chose to skip the race so
he could focus on the upcoming
outdoor Nationals, and Webb
was forced to withdraw at the
last minute after spraining his
ankle in a slow-speed fall during
the first afternoon practice ses-
sion at Vegas. He did, however,
hang around while hobbling
about on crutches. These turn
of events made Musquin, this
year's runaway champion in the
2015 East Championship, the
heavy—and we mean heavy—fa-
vorite.
