HONORED BY AMA

he AMA announced that
Team Honda HRC's Cole
Seely, in the 450SX class, and
Yamalube Star Racing Yamaha's
Aaron Plessinger, in the 250SX
class, are the 2015 AMA Super-
cross Rookies of the Year by
virtue of their performance in
the Monster Energy AMA Super-
cross Championship.
"Cole and Aaron both had
exceptional rookie seasons,
demonstrating that they have
what it takes to compete at the
highest levels," said AMA Super-
cross Director Kevin Crowther.
"We congratulate them for their
distinguishing performances in
2015. Their continued dedica-
tion and hard work will certainly
take them far in the sport of
AMA Supercross."
AMA Rookie of the Year hon-
ors are awarded to the eligible
rookie rider with the most points
accumulated in each class.
Seely finished third in AMA
450SX Championship, advanc-
ing to the
450SX class
after finish-
ing second in
250SX West
points in 2014.
Seely won
the Houston
450SX main
event this year,
en route to his
450SX AMA
Supercross
Rookie of the
Year honors.
Plessinger finished the sea-
son fifth in the AMA 250SX West
Region point standings, earning
the most season points of any
AMA 250SX class rookie in ei-
ther region. Plessinger finished
third at the fifth round of West
Region competition in Anaheim.
The race for 250SX AMA
Supercross Rookie of the Year
honors was particularly tight,
with Plessinger edging out
GEICO Honda rider R.J. Hamp-
shire in the East Region by just
three points.

Martin's final tilt at TT glory
will come on two machines
he's not ridden at the Island
before, as he joins current
British Supersport Champi-
ons, Smiths Racing, on the
Triumph Daytona 675R for
the Supersport TT, while his
regular TAS Racing team has
switched from Suzuki to BMW
machinery for the Superbike,
Superstock and Senior TTs.
