SUPERCROSS MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS SERIES, AN FIM WORLD ROUND 16 / APRIL 25, 2015 METLIFE STADIUM / EAST RUTHERFORD, NEW JERSEY P60 raged on and a few said it was the toughest of the year, due mainly to the deep ruts that developed in the soft soil. Finally, on lap 13, Tomac shot by Seely in the whoops and never looked back, building a 12-second lead by the finish. However, it wasn't Seely who got second. Dungey also passed Seely two laps after Tomac did and set out after Tomac, but could never quite catch the flying Coloradoan. After 20 laps, Tomac captured his third win of the season and solidified his status as runner-up in the series standings. "New York has been great to me; second last year and first here this year," Tomac said. "It was just a good day all around, good qualifying—was fastest in both," Tomac said. "Then the heat race was good, second place, and I got a good gate pick. Lucky for me I was able to sneak on the inside there around the 180, get around some guys, and get into the top five." In the meantime, Seely had slipped away to a large lead at one point after getting off the gate in good shape and quickly passing Short, who had claimed his umpteenth holeshot of the season. Seely pulled away quickly and looked as though he might be head- ing to the second win of his career, but then he started to tire, which al- lowed Tomac, and then later, Dung- ey, to go by. Justin Bogle led much of the 250 main but couldn't hold off Musquin. It was a bitter way for the defending champ to end the 250 East series. PHOTOGRAPHY BY SIMON CUDBY
