I definitely don't think it hurts
anything. It just makes you more
of a well-rounded rider and
easier to adapt to certain things
and a lot quicker. It's been going
pretty good. It's a big learning
curve jumping into the national
enduros for sure. Definitely the
way the tests are and how long
they are, I just find myself getting
a little lackadaisical out there
and not pushing the entire time.
I think that's the biggest thing
I have to overcome. You don't
know where anybody's at or
what's going on, so it's tough.
When you get settled into a pace
you feel like you're going fast but
you don't really know for sure
because there's nobody around.
You don't have any splits for any-
body to tell you what's going on.
I think that's the toughest thing
I'm running into. Obviously we've
had quite a long break since the
national endu-
ros. It's just been
GNCC's since.
I've been using
the first couple
laps at the
GNCC's to really
sprint and try to push really hard
to become a little bit more ready
for the enduros. Just trying to
get into that mindset. It's been
working out real well. Just need
to keep plugging away and try to
get a win so I can figure this stuff
out.
You're leading the points in
the enduro series, but when
we talked to you after round
two in South Carolina you
were mad at yourself for not
winning.
I beat myself up pretty hard,
especially when I lose. I'm so
used to winning and losing's kind
of unacceptable, no matter what
type of racing it is. I felt like I
rode well at the first enduro and
then I felt like I rode well some
of the second enduro. I was
just frustrated with some of the
dumb mistakes I kept making
throughout the day and just how
everything was going for me. I
kept making the same mistakes
over and over. It just wasn't
working out. That's what I was
pretty upset about—just kind of
The KTM Team
rider is also lead-
ing the GNCC
Series. He hasn't
lost a race yet
this year.
