IN THE WIND P22 MUSQUIN MOVIN' ON UP M arvin Musquin has re- signed with the Red Bull KTM Factory squad through 2017 in a deal that will see the newly crowned 2015 East 250 Supercross Champion moving up to the 450 class in '16. "I'm really excited to spend the next two years with KTM," said Musquin. "They are my family. It feels like home un- der the Red Bull KTM tent as we've spent almost seven years together already. I know how much effort they have put into R&D to give us the best KTM race bikes and I believe in them just as they believe in me. I'm looking forward to even more success with my team." Team Manager Roger De- Coster was also pleased to retain the French rider. "The whole team is happy to have Marvin [Musquin] re-sign with the team," said DeCoster. "Marvin and Ryan [Dungey] have a great working relation- ship. I have not seen a bond this great between teammates in a long time and we are happy to work with them both. Marvin is a smooth rider with great technique and we feel he will easily adapt to the 450 and we are looking forward to what he can bring to that class." FINLAND WANTS MOTOGP F inland is the latest country to throw its hat into the MotoGP ring, as construction on the state-of-the-art Kymi Ring con- tinues apace. The new circuit is located in the region of Kouvola, about 90 miles from the coun- try's capital of Helsinki, and will be a multi-use venue with differ- ent circuits able to be used at the same time. But despite having produced three Formula One World Champions, the circuit is more interested in luring MotoGP back to the country for the first time since 1982. Finnish motorcycle sport has enjoyed a resurgence of late thanks to former MotoGP and now Moto2 rider Mika Kallio, as well as the Finnish-based Ajo team respon- sible for the running of the Red Bull KTM Moto3 outfit. A round of the MotoGP World Championship would work as the circuit holds a Grade A license with the FIM, but not an F1 event and the circuit only holds a Grade B license with the FIA. The primary reason for not gun- ning for an F1 race is the sheer costs of licensing the event.
