On the 1200S version a Blue- tooth module is included as standard, which activates the Ducati Multimedia System and can connect the bike to a smartphone to control basic functions such as receiving incoming calls, notifica- tion of text messages, or playing music via the handlebar controls and on-dash info. Thanks to an iOS/Android app, the Bluetooth connection lets riders use bike data to activate other functions which let them share their every- day riding or touring experiences. The app allows interaction with the www.ducati.com website and social networks, making this a bike built for the social media era. Through this it's even possible to rate individual aspects of the bike, and submit ideas and comments about it directly to Ducati. Plus it'll deliver easily accessible weekly updates of a variety of content relating to the motorcycle. It also features an electrical steering lock actuator, so that when the bike is parked, the steering lock can be engaged with the push of a button, and is automatically released when the ignition is next turned on. Very convenient! The standard Multistrada 1200 is available in just one color, Ducati Red with black wheels, while the 1200S has an Iceberg White with black wheels option. The wheels are forged aluminum on the 1200S, cast on the stan- dard model. Two 12V power sock- ets, one positioned immediately underneath the passenger seat and the other on the front section of the bike, are available only as an option to power items such as heated clothing, intercoms or mobile phone chargers. Available as a Ducati Performance acces- sory, the Garmin sat-nav is pow- ered via a special connector near the instrumentation. A USB socket is also available in the under-seat zone, and this can be connected to a smartphone. Four different personalization packs are available at extra cost. The Touring Pack comes with heated grips, twin sidebags and a center stand, while the Sport Pack carries a road-legal Termignoni exhaust that's however homolo- gated only for the EU, a carbon fiber front mudguard, plus ma- chined-from-billet aluminum brake and clutch reservoir caps. The Urban Pack includes a top case, a lockable tank bag, and USB hub, while the Enduro Pack has supplementary lights and various Ducati Performance components supplied by Touratech, including engine protection bars, a radiator guard, oil sump guard, a bigger kickstand base and off-road foot- pegs.
