HAYES SWEEPS TACOMA ARENACROSS
T
eam Babbitt's Monster Ener-
gy Kawasaki's Jacob Hayes
topped the Tacoma, Washing-
ton, stop of the 2015 AMSOIL
Arenacross, featuring Ricky Car-
michael's Road to Supercross,
on April 18. It marked Hayes' first
win of the playoff-inspired Race
to the Championship, which he
dominated by leading every lap
of the two main events for a clean
sweep in the Tacoma Dome.
Matt Goerke took second on
the night with a pair of runner-
up finishes, giving the Babbitt's
Kawasaki team a 1-2 sweep.
Current Race to the Champion-
ship points leader Kyle Regal
piloted his TiLUBE TUF Racing
Husqvarna to third overall with a
5-3 tally. His second main event
podium tipped the scales in
his favor against Travis Sewell,
who carded a 6-4 finish (Sewell
earned an additional champion-
ship point for winning the Head
2 Head Challenge). Suzuki's
Cory Green rounded out the
top-five.
The win gave Hayes a step
up in the Race to the Cham-
pionship, where he now sits
in the runner-up position, but
Regal still leads the way by eight
points.
In the Western Regional Aren-
across Lites Class, Slaka Wear
KTM's Steven Mages also swept
the Pacific Northwest, earning
his fourth main event win of the
season.
