many laps in a row by myself and
have a good pace. I'm excited
about it for sure."
Herrin beat Gerloff by just
.428 of a second with Beach 3.2
seconds behind at the end of
the 20 laps.
"Battling with Josh today I
really thought I could do some-
thing," Gerloff said. "But Josh
[Herrin] was riding really strong
and so was JD [Beach], keep-
ing me honest. Our bikes were
even down the straightaway, but
I was having trouble getting off
the corners, so that made it to
where I couldn't pull alongside
him or draft him until the last part
of the back straight. I felt like I
had a really good bike, but today
just didn't happen."
Fourth and fifth in Saturday's
Supersport final went to M4
Suzuki's David Anthony and
RoadRace Factory's Tomas
Puerta, respectively.
GERL OFF'S TURN
After being so close so many
times, including in Saturday's
race, Gerloff finally scored that
highly-coveted victory he's been
seeking so long by winning on a
wet track in Sunday's race. Ger-
loff dominated to become the
third different Supersport winner
in the three-race old season. He
beat Saturday's winner Herrin by
8.630 seconds. Gerloff's team-
mate Beach finished third for
the second straight day on his
Yamaha R6.
The win was Gerloff's first in
the MotoAmerica Supersport
class after opening the season
with two second-place finishes.
"It's good to finally get one out
of the way," Gerloff said. "I know
I can keep doing it whether it's
wet or dry. The race went really
well. As soon as I got a little bit
of a gap, I relaxed a lot. That was
a big help. I just tried to ride my
(Left to Right) Josh Herrin, Garrett
Gerloff and JD Beach topped the
podium once again on Sunday.
