Hill immediately went to work
to salvage what he could, while
Hansen led the first few laps
before Webb's teammate Aaron
Plessinger took the lead, only
to crash and hand it back to
Hansen. By the halfway point,
Webb—who was blessed with a
bad enough jump off the gate
that he was able to avoid most
of the first-turn carnage—was all
over Hansen, and he made the
pass for the lead on lap nine.
Hansen dropped out with an
apparent mechanical problem a
lap after that, while Plessinger
went down again, which allowed

Martin to take over second, but
with five laps left, he had to deal
with Hill, who was hands-down
the fastest guy on the track in
the final stages. Hill made quick
work of Martin, but couldn't reel
Webb in. Hill came from a first-
turn crash to grab his best finish
of the season.
"You were not thinking podium
at the point," Hill said. "You're
down on the ground in the first
corner and everybody's just
zooming by you. But I mean,
from 15th to second tonight was
strong in my mind. I felt really
strong throughout the Main.
Didn't ride too tight. I was really
solid in the whoops and had
just great things for myself that I
was doing out there. I felt really
good."
And for Webb, it was his sixth
win of the eight 250cc West
races this season.
"I think that was our whole
goal today, was to come here

the 250 podium.
