career MotoGP win, extending his points lead with three of 18 rounds in the season complete. Val worked his way
eighth to second, then started erasing Marquez's lead, cutting it to 3.1 seconds with 10 laps remaining, 2.6
with 8 laps remaining, then to 1.6 seconds with six laps left. Rossi then set the fastest lap of the race, cutting
the gap to under a second with four laps remaining before passing for the lead with just two laps left.
