IN THE WIND P28 E rik Buell Racing (EBR), the company that rose from the ashes of Buell Motorcycles, is no more. EBR has been placed into receivership in the hands of court-appointed attorney Michael S. Polsky and has filed for Chapter 128 court protection from creditors under a Wiscon- sin state statute similar to federal bankruptcy law. EBR is reported to have more than $20 million in outstanding liabilities, and in- formed its 126 staff last Wednes- day that they were immediately out of a job. "To say this setback is a disap- pointment does not begin to express what I feel right now," company founder Erik Buell said in a statement released on April 15. "I am personally grateful for the support of our outstanding workers, customers and vendors. The turn we recently took, after we thought we were moving forward, was unexpected.
