own race and monitor the gap. It
feels awesome."
For Herrin a solid finish on a
wet track was important.
"After crashing out at COTA
it was good for me to finish this
race, especially being second,"
he said. "I congratulate Garrett
on his first win. I know that's an
exciting feeling. I'm ready to go
to VIR. I think I've had four wins
on a 600 there, so that's exciting
for me."
Beach lost the series lead
after race two, but remains
optimistic.
"We know we're right there in
this and it's going to be a long
battle," Beach said. "Overall I
was pretty happy coming away
from the tricky conditions, espe-
cially today [Sunday] and scoring
a couple of podiums. We'll take
it from here and move on."
Puerta improved on his race
one finish to take fourth in the
wet, ahead of COTA podium fin-
isher David Anthony who looked
to be down on power a bit from
the Yamahas.
"Yesterday, I let the leaders
get away and then rode around
in fourth," Anthony explained. "I
was doing the same lap times as
the leaders, but I just couldn't
bridge the gap. Today in the
rain… I've been quick in the wet
all weekend, so I'm a bit disap-
pointed to come away in fifth. I
played it a bit too safe I guess. I
should have pushed a bit more,
but at least I brought it home in
one piece.
"The year is going well. We've
got a third, a fourth, and a fifth.
We're at the pointy end, we've
got to keep it up and stay consis-
tent."
Gerloff now leads the cham-
pionship by eight points, 65-57,
over Beach. Herrin moves to
third with 54 points. Anthony
now sits fourth in the Supersport
standings with 40 points to his
credit. Ben Young rounds out
the top five with 30 points. CN

Yamaha R6. Roberts raced to
a convincing victory in a mostly
dry race one, 8.556-seconds
clear of former CEV Supersport
racer Richie Escalante from
Mexico. He faced a little more of a challenge in wet-dry
race two from Travis Wyman and was only 2.427 seconds
ahead in that race.
"I think today was when I had the most pressure on
me," Roberts said of Sunday's
race two. "With the situation
with the track drying out and
us being on rain tires you really
had to keep your focus. Travis
[Wyman] rode really good,
he kept pushing me. I kept
looking at the board and saw
'+4' and then '+3' and '+2,' so
it was a fun race. I had a great weekend. I was first in
every session, so you can't ask for any more than that."
Roberts said he plans to do a wildcard Supersport ride at
Indianapolis during MotoGP weekend, where Superstock
600 is not running.
Herrin's teammate Joe
Roberts dominated the
Superstock 600 class.
