CHAMPIONSHIP
VOL. 52 ISSUE 15 APRIL 14, 2015 P95
MotoGP World Championship arrived just
in time for the start of the Supersport race,
giving the middleweight class mixed-track
conditions to try and navigate through.
JD Beach got the holeshot, but it didn't
take the former AMA Superbike Champion
Josh Herrin on the Wheels In Motion Motor-
sport.com Meen Yamaha long to take the
lead. Also in the mix in that lead group was
Beach's teammate Garrett Gerloff and Latus
Motors Racing's Bobby Fong, with each of
the foursome having their turn in the lead.
Eventually Malaysian Ramdan Rosli on a
Kyle Wyman Racing-prepped Yamaha got
into the mix, but unfortunately got caught
out in the conditions and crashed in the
final corner before the halfway mark. Shortly
after, Road Racing Factory Yamaha's Cam-
eron Petersen crashed out of fourth in turn
one.

have what it takes. And I know—I've
been in this class before—I have
what it takes. We learned a lot last
year. Just want to be able to show
everybody. We have tough competi-
tion, Garrett [Gerloff], Bobby [Fong],
JD [Beach], all those guys are really
quick. But I have a lot of experience
and mentally I'm ready. I just need to
get a chance to show it."
This season former ADR Motors-
ports Team Owner/Superbike racer
David Anthony made the decision
to forego his team in favor of signing
with Team Hammer to race Super-
sport in the new MotoAmerica se-
ries. A podium finish was not a bad
way to start. "I've always had a good
team around me, but when you're
the man in charge it makes it a bit
hard," Anthony said. "You've got to
think about other things and it's not
just riding the bike. Now it's my job
to ride the bikes, that's what I con-
centrate on and I can put everything
to training. I'm a motorcycle racer
now rather than a team owner. It was
always team owner first, motorcycle
racer second. So far I'm liking it.
We were pretty close in the dry so I
think either way we would have been
pretty close. Moving forward but def-
initely looking forward to some more
podiums hopefully."
Latus Motors Racing's Bobby Fong
was disappointed with his result, but
happy to have salvaged some points
after falling victim to the poor con-
ditions in the downpour toward the
end of the race. "I ran out front taking
it easy and staying out of trouble,"
Fong said. "I just waited for other
people to make mistakes and used
those opportunities to advance. On
the last lap I was in second place
