SUPERCROSS MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS SERIES, AN FIM WORLD ROUND 14/APRIL 11, 2015 NRG DOME/HOUSTON, TEXAS P76 to Seely for eight laps before tangling with Rockstar Energy/ Factory Husqvarna Racing's Ja- son Anderson, who had moved into third two laps before. On lap nine, the two riders— Reed and Anderson—got to- gether in a turn when Reed took an inside line to block Anderson, causing both to go down. Ander- son managed to get going again in eighth, while Reed was one spot back in ninth. Anderson was riding aggressively all night and put Weston Pieck on the ground during the opening lap. In the meantime, Reed's team- mate, Grant, seized the oppor- tunity, and moved up into third behind Dungey and holeshotter Andrew Short, who took over second when Reed went down. Three laps after inheriting second, Grant gave way to a forward-charging Dungey after a short fight. A lap later, Dungey dropped Short. The only thing left was for Tomac to overtake "Shorty" on lap 17. The top five was finally set in stone on the 20 th and final lap, with a half-lap to go—Short went from fourth to sixth, leaving the final top six as Seely, Dungey, Tomac, Grant, Reed and Short. Monster Energy Kawasaki's Davi Millsaps didn't have a good start. He was 12 th on the first lap but made some progress throughout the race, finishing seventh, one spot ahead of RCH Soaring Eagle/Jimmy Johns/ Suzuki Factory Racing team's Broc Tickle. "The main event was intense tonight," said Millsaps. "The track was technical and rut- ted and there were a few spots where we would all stack up every lap, which kept the racing close. I got held up a few times in the early laps where I had a chance to get a one word of the chaos, but instead I was right in the thick of it." Tickle, on the other hand, made a few changes throughout the day before finally getting the bike to work the way he liked it. "The main didn't go as planned, but I felt like there were still some positives," said Tickle. "I made a couple passes in the beginning but I got a little flus- tered when Millsaps and I came together and I kind of lost my groove. It's frustrating because I had good speed all day. So, for us, we just need to go back home and have a good week, go to Santa Clara and see if we can improve." Autotrader.com/Toyota/Ya- maha's Justin Barcia returned to action at Houston and finished out the race in ninth, with BTO KTM's Justin Brayton finishing 10th. >>250 WEST MAIN TITLE TIME FOR COOPER WEBB The Houston race marked the return of the Western Regional 250 Supercross Series, where Yamalube/Star Racing Yamaha's Cooper Webb has dominated the action to date, owning a 30-point lead over Jessy Nel- son coming into Houston and needing only to finish at least 25 points ahead of the Lucas Oil/ TLD/Honda rider to wrap up the championship. But Nelson sur- rendered the 250 West title ear- Shane McElrath (40) and Zach Osborne (16) battle it out in the 250 West main. McElrath went on to finish on the podium.
