keep his head down and
claw out the tenths on an un-
expectedly slippery surface,
as Valentino Rossi moved
into second and second
factory Ducati rider Andrea
Iannone tagged on behind
teammate Andrea Dovizioso.
The three Italians chased him
hard. And their subsequent
race for second was highly
entertaining. So don't get too
despondent, about the return
to Marquez normality. Mo-
toGP has a fight on its hands,
and it might not always be for
second.
Marquez also had to do
it on the third of his five
engines, after a still unex-
plained failure on Saturday
left HRC engineers investi-
gating potential damage.
The weekend in Texas
was a little unusual (highly so
in Moto2 and Moto3, each
won by a British rider), and
had not gone smoothly. Bad
weather complicated every-
thing, proceedings started
with a delay while marshals
sorted themselves out; then
a stray dog got on the track
and led marshals a merry
dance. More trouble on
Sunday morning with another
Andrea Dovizioso (04) led early
with Marquez (93) and Valentino
Rossi (46) in tow.
