STORY AND PHOTOGRAPHY BY SHAN MOORE

f there is one rider who has paid his dues—and
then some—before finally nailing a spot on a
top-tier factory-level team, it's without question,
California's Weston Peick. During his tenure as
a full-on privateer racer, Peick proved himself as
a rider that one of the factory teams would—or at
least think—want to have on their roster, but he kept
getting passed up. But instead of giving up, Peick,
with the help of his father/tuner, kept plugging
away on the motocross and Supercross circuits as
a privateer until, finally, he got the call he had been
working so hard for so long to get.
That phone call came from North Carolina,
where the JGRMX organization calls home. On
the other end of the phone was N-Fab/AutoTrader.
com/Toyota/JGRMX Yamaha team manager
Jeremy Albrecht, who offered Peick a spot on the
team, alongside teammate Justin Barcia. Finally,
Peick had made it to the big time, and he hasn't
disappointed his new bosses.
Since his first ride on the team at Anaheim I,
Peick has posted results expected of him, though
he still hasn't quite gotten on the podium yet; he
has, however, come very close. Unfortunately,
just when it appeared that was about to happen,
he suffered an injury that forced him to miss a few
rounds of the Supercross series. Since his return,
he's been a consistent runner among the lead
pack, and his speed is certainly there. Just last
week, Peick qualified second quickest at the St.
Louis Supercross. His biggest problem right now,
