O
f the many new and remod-
eled off-road bikes that have
been coming down the trail
lately, the new Yamaha WR250F has
to be one of the more exciting ones.
Even though it's a continuation of the
company's WR line that first rolled
out in 2001, the 2015 WR250F is
essentially an all-new motorcycle and
has very little in common with the
previous, 2013 WR250F (Yamaha did
not officially produce a 2014 model).
The all-new WR250F is simply an
EPA-legal and CARB Green Sticker
off-road version of the outstand-
ing YZ250F motocrosser, a bike
that has won our 250F motocross
shootout the last two years. The YZ
quickly rose to the top after getting
a complete overhaul in 2013, when
it got its reversed cylinder and mass
re-centralization. All of that technol-
ogy of the current YZ250F has finally
found its way onto Yamaha's line of
250cc off-roaders, and we couldn't
be much happier.
The 2015
Yamaha WR250F
attacks the trails
as well as its
YZ250F brother
attacks the MX
tracks.
