missed the podium for the first time in
three races.
"It was tough," said Seely. "I got off
to a horrible start. Just started trying
to be smart about line selection and
pick my way through the guys. I got
into fourth and I was trying to pick my
way up to Jason. I was catching him,
and then I got a really bad side cramp
when I had to avoid a lapper. Kind of
did like a jerking motion and under my
ribs just cramped up right away. I kind
of had to just maintain what I had and
hope that he would make a mistake,
which never happened. It was a tough
one there the last five laps."
Peick, who turned the second fast-
est time in qualifying, definitely had the
speed to be on the podium, but once
again, didn't have what it took to do 20
laps.
"I had a tough day," said Peick. "A
lot of crashing and I've just been a little
sick all week. Just my lungs are burn-
ing a bit. We got off to a decent start,
about third place and moved into sec-
ond. I just trailed Dungey for a few laps
and just tried to pace off my own race.
I got about 10 laps and started getting
a little bit tight, just started making a
few mistakes and I got passed by a few
guys. Like I said, it's been a tough day
and to pull off fifth place is still accept-
able. I'm not pumped because I didn't
get on the podium, but it is what it is
and get ready for Houston."

Marvin Musquin is every bit as domi-
nate in the 250 class as his teammate
Dungey is in the 450 division. Even
though he had to battle Jeremy Martin,
on the Yamalube/Star Racing Yamaha
for a while, Musquin eventually was
Jeremy Martin
kept his slim
250 title hopes
alive with a
second-place
finish.
