VOL. 52 ISSUE 13 MARCH 31, 2015 P77
At the halfway mark, both
Anderson and Tomac got around
Peick to take over second and
third, respectively. And then a
lap later, Tomac passed Ander-
son for second, taking over the
runner-up spot for good.
"Man, second place, that's
okay," said Tomac. "Honestly the
night didn't start well all the way
from the heat race. I got stuck
in a first-turn crash; I actually
wasn't on the ground, but I was
just stuck behind a bike and was
in last place. I didn't make it out
of the heat race, got fifth in that
and had to go in the semi. I won
that but still didn't have a good
start in the main. Obviously, that
doesn't put you in the ideal posi-
tion to have a ninth gate pick.
I don't know. My starts were
absolutely junk tonight. When
Dungey comes out whatever
it was, top three, there's not a
whole lot of chance of getting
towards him right now. I also had
a good battle going with Jason.
I should have made a pass stick
earlier before that; that put me
back like five seconds. That was
the end of having a sniff at the
Dungey. So that was about all it
was after Anderson."
Briefly...
ing to ride some outdoors, do some
testing. It's also important to use
the break to move forward for the
outdoors. We got a new bike, never
done any testing on outdoors on it.
So it's going to be good to learn even
more."
Eli Tomac (3) really needed
a victory in St. Louis but
had to settle for second.
He now trails Dungey by
80 points with four to go.
Dungey could clinch the
title at the next round.
