the same time, Rockstar En-
ergy Racing Husqvarna's Jason
Anderson, Team Honda HRC's
Cole Seely and GEICO Honda's
Eli Tomac closed in to do battle
with Peick over second.

The whoops weren't as big as what
the racers have been facing lately,
but Ryan Dungey still described
them as tough. "The whoops were
actually tough because you didn't
want to go too fast through them, be-
cause you'd start spitting off on the
edges and the bike would start slap-
ping back and forth," said Dungey.
"You wanted to push but you had to
be smart because you didn't want it
to reach out and bite you." Jeremy
Martin said, "The whoops were defi-
nitely the smallest they've been this
year, but they were technical, be-
cause you're going so fast through
them your front end would drop,
so it was very challenging. Overall,
I thought tonight was a good race
track. Everyone was going pretty
fast but there were different options
you could take to make passes. The
track got a lot better as the day pro-
gressed. The transitions were awful
in the beginning of the day but as we
kept riding, we kept breaking them in
and getting them better."

Racing's Martin Davalos was un-
able to race due to illness.
Marvin Musquin talked about the
upcoming three-week break for the
250 East Series. "I wish we'd just go
straight to New York, but that's the
way it is," said Musquin. "We're go-
