NAGL REBOUNDS AT ARGENTINE MXGP
M
ax Nagl had no idea that he
had earned the overall vic-
tory at round three of the FIM
MXGP World Championship,
following his second-moto win
in Patagonia, Argentina, March
29. The 13-year GP veteran rode
his Red Bull Ice One Husqvarna
FC450 past defending series
champion Antonio Cairoli on lap
two and dispensed of first moto
winner—Suzuki-mounted Clem-
ent Desalle—for the lead halfway
through the 30 minute-plus two
laps moto.
"I actually don't know which
place I am overall, but a podium
is so great," said Nagl, just
before learning he had taken his
second overall win of the young
season. "I'm surprised, because
yesterday I was really off the
pace; I was too slow…but over-
night I changed something and I
could make it good."
Nagl was referring to the
MXGP qualifying race, held
on Saturday at the newly built
track, which featured long, wide,
sweeping turns with plenty of
rollers and several manmade
doubles and tabletop jumps.
Spectators turned out in droves,
Clement Desalle
(25) won the first
moto and while
missing out on
the overall, left
Argentina with
the red plate.
