Unfortunately, they all ran into issues approach- ing the midway point of the race, with all three dropping out of the race. The brutal heat got the best of Ramirez, and a clutch failure ended the day for Coy. This opened the door for Zip- Ty Racing's Blayne Thompson to claim his second straight podium finish. Thompson got off to a near last-place start and went down twice early in the race, but once he got into a rhythm, he was able to start pushing his way up through the pack and claim the final spot on the podium. "It feels great getting two podium finishes in a row, I didn't think I was going to do that as a rookie" said Thompson. John Burr Cycle's Justin Seeds was back in action hav- ing skipped the previous round. Seeds ran a solid race and challenged Thompson late in the race. "It was gnarly," Seeds said. "I'm glad that they groomed the track a little bit because I ROCKY MOUNTAIN MC WORLD OFF-ROAD CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES, (Right) Dalton Shirey took top honors in the Pro 2 division. (Below) Blayne Thompson survived the heat and rough conditions and was rewarded a spot on the Pro-class podium.
