Hinson/Honda's Justin Jones
also quickly worked his way up
through the pack. He challenged
Bell for the front spot for the first
six laps of the race.
"I'm stoked for Justin Jones,"
Bell said. "He had a heck of
a ride and was keeping me
real honest in the beginning. I
thought he was going to make a
push and get past me, but I just
held a pace that I knew I could
finish out strong, and I was able
to fortunately get a little gap on
him."
By the checkered flag, Bell
had gapped Jones by over a
minute to keep his undefeated
season intact. "It's been a really,
really good run, and of course,
I know in the back of my mind, I
want to keep the streak alive, but
for the most part I just want to
do the best that I can and take it
race by race. I know that's kind
of a worn out saying, but that's
really all you can do."
Jones matched his WORCS
career best finish. "I got a pretty
horrible start, but I pushed really
hard the first lap. I made my
way into third pretty quickly and
then passed for second place. I
started reeling Robby in and felt
like I held a good pace, but the
track was pretty brutal."
With his second podium
finish of the season, Jones is
now second in the point's race
behind Bell, but with a 22-point
gap between the two, Jones will
have his work cut out for him to
reel in Bell before the end of the
nine round series.
