WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
VOL. 52 ISSUE 12 MARCH 24, 2015 P65
heat race behind Dungey, Tomac
and Short, but just couldn't find
the speed to stay on a level with
Seely and the other top two dur-
ing the main.
Millsaps matched his best
finish of the year with a fifth, after
running in the top two on the
opening lap. The Monster Energy
Kawasaki rider has been hot and
cold for most of the week, and
told Cycle News he was "dealing
with issues off the track."
Reed's teammate Josh Grant
also matched his best perfor-
mance of the year with a sixth,
while RCH/Soaring Eagle/
Jimmy Johns Suzuki's Broc
Tickle turned in an amazing ride,
coming all the way from 18
th
on
the first lap to finish seventh.
Blake Baggett's starts have
been improving each week, but
this week the Yoshimura Suzuki
rider got a midpack start and
was 11
th
at the end of lap one.
Baggett moved up to seventh by
lap six and maintained the posi-
tion until late in the race when
he passed Short to move into
sixth. On the final lap though he
had a run-in with a lapped rider
that resulted in him tagging a Tuff
Block and going down, losing
a spot in the process to Tickle,
who got bounced around in the
early stages of the race and
spent the rest of it working his
way to the front.
Short once again put his
BTO Sports KTM into the early
lead but slipped back five or six
spots by the second turn of the
opening lap. "Shorty" finished
the race in ninth and admitted af-
terwards that he was struggling
with his speed.
"I don't think I'm flowing like I
should," said Short. "It was a dif-
ficult track and I think I'm strug-
gling a bit with my fitness at the
end of the races."
N-Fab/Toyota/JGR Yamaha's
Justin Brayton returned to ac-
tion in Detroit after missing the
previous nine rounds with back
and shoulder injuries, and came
away with a solid 10
th
overall
finish.
"I've actually only been on the
bike just four times before this
so I'm happy with a top 10," said
Brayton. "I felt pretty good on
the bike; I just need to get my
fitness back."
>>250 EAST MAIN
T O O L A T E ?
Time is running out for Justin
Bogle if he hopes to have any
chance at defending his East
Regional 250 Supercross title,
and his first win of the year could
not have come at a better time.
But with just three rounds left,
he's got to have a little bit of luck
go his way if he is going to retain
that number-one plate, but he's
certainly still in the hunt.
His Detroit win was an im-
pressive one. Bogle basically
grabbed the holeshot and never
looked back.
Points leader Musquin
flinched at the start and was
around sixth when he exited
the first turn. The Red Bull KTM
rider later had to deal with AG
Motorsports' Kyle Cunningham,
GEICO Honda's RJ Hampshire,
Yamalube/Star Racing Yamaha's
Anthony Rodriguez and then a
stubborn Joey Savatgy on the
Monster Energy Pro Circuit Ka-
wasaki. Savatgy was hoping to
rebound from last week's DNF at
Indy and moved into second be-
hind Bogle. But Musquin would
eventually catch and pass him
