IN THE WIND P40 BLOSE BACK ON TOP AT NEW ORLEANS ARENACROSS M arch Madness isn't just for "stick and ball" fans, as the AMSOIL Arenacross, featuring Ricky Carmi- chael's Road to Supercross demonstrates. The playoff- inspired Race to the Championship—reserved for the final rounds of the Arenacross series—has officially begun, and Babbitt's Monster Energy Kawasaki's Chris Blose successfully fired the first shot with a big win in New Orleans. After a series of close races (the previ- ous three rounds requiring tie-breakers to determine the overall winner), Blose made a statement with a dominant 1-1 victory. His big win also garnered him the points lead. A rider wouldn't typically hope to leap from sixth in points to first in the championship in only one race, but that's exactly what Blose managed to do with his 1-1 vic- tory. After cruising to the win in the first main event, and leaving the field behind him to battle for second, TYLER HOEFT: 2000 – 2015 A mateur motocross racer Tyler Hoeft of Castaic, California tragi- cally passed away on Friday, March 20 following a bad crash at the 2015 JS7 Freestone Spring Champion- ship in Texas. Hoeft sustained major head trauma in the accident, and was rushed to a local hospital where he was placed on life support. After showing very little brain activity, the Hoeft family made the gut-wrenching decision to take Tyler off life support. The 14-year-old was pronounced dead at 4:40 p.m. Hoeft is survived by his parents, and his older brother, Justin, who is also an up-and-coming amateur moto- cross racer.
