VOL. 52 ISSUE 11 MARCH 17, 2015 P89 BY JEFF BUCHANAN PHOTOGRAPHY COURTESY OF SUZUKI S uzuki created the foundation for a dy- nasty in 1977 when they unveiled the very first GS750. The sleek design, coupled with a performance focused in-line 4-cylinder engine, helped signifi- cantly push the edges of the envelope for motorcycle design out quite a bit. In the decades since, the 750 has evolved into a stalwart presence in Suzuki's line-up, serving as prime example of a versatile, performance-oriented machine. For 2015 the manufacturer takes the 750 into yet another evolutionary change. Keeping performance at the forefront, Suzuki has delivered a solid platform of sportiness and melded it with practicality of application. The result is a very com- fortable upright naked bike that sacrifices nothing in terms of its racing pedigree. Suzuki has very adeptly recognized the shift in what the motorcycle public wants. And a big part of that want is a sportbike that has everyday ride-ability. The new GSX-S750 is not merely a re- worked design of an existing model—this is a machine conceived and engineered specifically as a pure and practical high- performance upright. The new package mixes an attractive aesthetic with legiti- mate technical brawn.
