CN III VOICES L E T T E R S T O T H E E D I T O R "[Ryan Villopoto] is willing to buck a trend to prove to himself (not the world) that he is the best of the best" Bauer On Villopoto Thanks for Steve Bauer's thoughtful piece regarding Mr. Villopoto ("Friendly Fire"). He mentioned a few things I had not thought about—sponsor pressure, etc. Very nice work. Dan Knous Via The Internet Steve Bauer wrote a great article on Ryan Villopoto expectations in last week's Cycle News. I could not agree with him more, and I believe that Ryan has just as good a chance as anyone to win the championship despite all the adversity he will have to face in his first season in MXGP. I love Ryan Villopoto! He is one of my heroes right next to Rossi. As a former road racer myself, I understand the total dedication it takes to compete in motorcycle racing, and I think he deserves all the props we can give him. He is so dedicated to his sport. He is willing to buck a trend to prove to himself (not the world) that he is the best of the best. Ryan Villopoto critics need to be beaten with a wet noodle. Who do they think they are? They don't even deserve the right to comment on Villopoto. Unless you race at the top-tier level, keep your vicious traps shut. Mean people suck! I was so stoked to see him win the MXGP second race (in Thailand). He has the cour- age, drive and pressure from within himself to overcome every obstacle put in his path in his historic career so far. We should all be proud of Ryan and support his dream. Praise him, cheer him, but don't ever put him down unless you have walked the mile in his boots. This will be a very exciting year. I don't usually get too into Grand Prix World MX, but this year I will cheer my hero Ryan Villopoto to win. Sorry to com- plain but, really, who needs to listen to the naysayers? Cathy White Via The Internet Indy Supercross Kudos Just a note to say I sure enjoyed the 2015 Indianapo- lis Supercross. The weather cleared and was perfect for be- ing in the pits before the races. It was heart warming seeing James Stewart signing auto- graphs with teammate Blake Baggett. I sure miss seeing him on the track, because you could always expect him find- ing unconventional lines around the track! August seems so far away for his return! Speaking of "unconventional lines," Chad Reed may not have won the Indy SX, but he was a pleasure to watch! For example, there was a right-hand turn following a triple; he was the only rider to go high in the right- hander, which would allow him to bunny hop over the next three obstacles. It was like a no-brain- er that only he saw—what a treat! Looking forward to next year. Joe Wahrer Fryburg, Ohio Frozen Electronics? Frozen electronics in MotoGP? I don't think so ("MotoGP Pre- view"). Electronics will be jointly developed from input from the manufacturers. That section of the rules is even titled "Open Software Development." There is absolutely nothing frozen about it. I enjoy your maga- zine, ironically, for its depth of technical information and interviews, but please double check whatever you get from this author. There is no need to spread miss-information to try and ask a rhetorical question. Stephen Hagberg Houston, Texas Fabulous Photos I have always loved the "Cap- tured" photo section in Cycle News. I especially liked last week's retro shot of Roger De- Coster and the picture of Ryan Villopoto in his murky-water ice bath in Thailand—keep 'em coming! Also, I'm hoping the Daytona 200 goes off well and can get back to its former glory (and TV coverage!) in years to come. The race is a classic and should never disappear.
