O
ut of 1400 entries,
34 champions were
crowned at the sixth-an-
nual Ricky Carmichael Daytona
Amateur Supercross (RCSX), as
action wrapped up on Monday,
March 9, following the Super-
cross By Honda and after two
full days of racing on the historic
grounds of Daytona International
Speedway.
The AMA-sanctioned RCSX
event kicked off a five-race
American Motocross Champion-
ships schedule and among the
stars that shined brightest at
the Daytona round were Darian
Sanayei, Jalek Swoll and Austin
Forkner.
Heat races took place on
Sunday, while racing got un-
derway in earnest on Monday
with the main events, where
representatives from all of the
major OEMs and top race teams
were on hand to check out the
brightest of the up-and-coming
talent. Among those destined to
move on to the next level were
Monster Energy Team Green
Kawasaki's Darian Sanayei, who
did battle with heavyweights
like Austin Forkner, Chase Bell,
Mitchell Harrison, Daniel Baker
and Tristan Charboneau to claim
titles in the 450 A/Pro Sport and
250 All-Star A/B classes.
Jalek Swoll terrorized the Mini
classes, taking titles in the Mini
Sr. 1 (12-13) and Mini Sr. 2 (12-14)
classes, ahead of Team Green
