"I don't know what was go- ing on there," Dungey said of Tomac's tactics. "I saw that and was being respectful of him. I backed it way down the last couple of laps since I was fortunate enough to have a big lead." Dungey became the fifth rider in history to win back- to-back races in Indianapolis. Interestingly, in the 23 races held in Indianapolis, the winner of the race has gone on to win the 450SX class Championship 17 times. SEELY'S SECOND PODIUM At Indy, rookie Cole Seely scored his second podium finish of the season, matching his second at Anaheim III. After getting around Andrew Short early on, Seely ran second all night. He twice made charges and actually closed the gap on Briefly... Series contender Trey Canard talked about his crash in practice. "I definitely thanked the Lord," he said. "I got ejected from the bike and went about 15-20 feet and landed straight on my shoulder. It's always good to walk away from a big one like that." Things went from bad to worse in Canard's heat race where he got his front wheel taken out from under him and crashed. Injured List: Ken Roczen sat out Indy and the word from the RCH Suzuki camp is that he is hoping to return by Houston. Justin Barcia is still out of action and was joined on the sidelines this week by Josh Hill and Mike Alessi, who both suffered injuries the weekend before at Day- tona. Drones were being tested at the Indy Supercross during media day. Officials are testing the feasibility of having video from drones during the races, but they say right now it's ear- ly and they're just being looked at as a future possibility. Andrew Short nailed the holeshot in the Indy Supercross main on his BTO Sports KTM. He parlayed that start into one of the best fin- ishes of the season in sixth. That was good enough to keep him four points ahead of Broc Tickle in ninth in the standings. "The starts were my strong point tonight," Short ex- plained. "I ended up sixth, which was a lot better than the previous week- end in Daytona. I feel like the last couple of weekends were tough on me physically and I'm trying to come out of that hole a little bit. Overall it Justin Bogle (1) gets the jump in the 250 main but he's still looking for his first win of 2015. continued on next page
