QUINN CODY NAMED
DAKAR AMBASSADOR
T
he ASO—organizers of the Dakar Rally—recently appointed
American rider Quinn Cody as its North American ambassa-
dor. Having raced the Dakar Rally himself, Cody is also an ac-
complished desert racer with four Baja 1000 victories to his name.
Cody will serve as a point of reference for Canadian, Mexican
and/or U.S. riders who are considering attempting the toughest
rally race in the world.
"Thanks to a successful experience in the Dakar, and a tre-
mendous recognition in North America, Quinn perfectly embod-
ies the values of the most famous and toughest cross country
event in the world," read a release from the ASO.
Cody currently works for the Kurt Caselli Foundation, where he
has helped develop and implement a number of safety measures
into North American racing, including the SCORE Baja Series
and the AMA National Hare & Hound Championship.

GAMES STEP UP QUALIFIER

nduroCross promoters re-
cently announced that an X
Games Moto X Step Up Quali-
fier will be held in Las Vegas in
collaboration with round three of
the GEICO AMA EnduroCross
Series. The qualifier will take
place in the Orleans Arena on
Friday, May 1. The top-10 riders
will advance to the evening pro-
gram where they will compete
for a spot in the 2015 Austin X
Games. The top-three riders will
earn invitations to the Summer
event.
