Although no longer on the schedule of the national
AMA Superbike Championship, the Daytona 200
goes on as scheduled on March 14. Now sanc-
tioned by American SportBike Racing Association
(ASRA), the race continues with 600cc sportbikes.
Riders flock to Daytona—including a few former
winners—to battle for the coveted title of "Daytona
200" winner, and the Rolex Cosmograph Daytona.

in Daytona Beach, Florida with a doubleheader
at the Daytona International Speedway Short
Track. Heading into a new season is always an

and Kenny Coolbeth Jr. scored a first—Bauman
his first Grand National and Coolbeth his first
Daytona Short Track. Will there be another first
