Thompson rode to a third- place finish in the West Coast GP Pro class before heading to Arizona, where he finished second. The Pro II win went to young Trevor Stew- art. The 17-year-old was impressive on his Ya- maha YZ250 as he rode to third overall in the WCGP. Stewart put his home-court advan- tage to work at Glen Helen, and even though he was one of the riders to blow the turn on the first lap, he made his way back into the lead pack and finished out a strong race. "This is my home track and I just re- ally wanted to make a statement," Stewart said. "And I think I did. Young Trevor Stewart won the WCGP Pro II class on Saturday, and helped himself to the Expert win on Sunday, as well.
