olton Udall. The end. That's how
the short version of the story goes
from the Prairie Dogs GP, round
three of the MSR Big 6 GP Series.
The JCR Honda rider just about
dominated the entire West Coast GP
feature on Saturday at Glen Helen
Raceway, the track that Udall calls his
"backyard." Of course, many Southern
California racers might say the same,
but Udall proved he was the most
comfortable on the fast and sweep-
ing 10-mile course, and reminded
everyone why his name and image are
proudly displayed on the infield of the
track.
Udall and over 1100 other racers
came to Glen Helen cautiously aware
of the inclement weather, and the
fact that last year's Prairie Dogs GP
took place amid a total deluge. They
were prepared for the worst, but were
pleasantly surprised by the perfect
conditions at Glen Helen. Aside from
some on-and-off drizzling throughout
the event, racers were treated to wet
dirt, cloudy skies and cool tempera-
tures – ideal weather for a full week-
end of racing.
"Everyone was scaring the heck out
of me saying it was going to down-
pour," Udall said. "I didn't even put
graphics on because I didn't want to
ruin my fresh graphics in a mudder.
But this is awesome – chocolate cake!
It was a great day."

Udall's great day was made even
better by the fact that he led the way
nearly flag to flag in the WCGP race.
The only part Udall didn't control was
the start. But an error by the lead-
ers less than a mile into the course
handed the reins over to Udall, who
then piloted his JCR Honda CRF450R
to the checkered flag ahead of Preci-
sion Concepts Kawasaki-mounted
Justin Seeds and Zip-Ty Husqvarna's
Blayne Thompson.
"I kinda got pulled on the start,"
Udall confessed. "I was like fifth out of
