Ducati's second-string strength has gone up (and Kawasaki gone away) after the Avintia team switched brands. Hector Barbera and Mike di Meglio will be on various ver- sions of the old model; likewise Pramac stalwart Yonny Her- nandez and the team's Iannone replacement Danilo Petrucci. They too will run under Open rules. A total of 25 riders is completed by Alex de Angelis on an ageing Aprilia, in the cash-strapped Ioda team. His ART is a hangover from the CRT production-based days. M O T O 2 : K A L E X T A K E S O V E R Two major things stay the same in Moto2. Firstly, the reigning champion Tito Rabat is the first to stay on to defend his title. Secondly, he will again be riding a Kalex chassis. So will almost everybody else. Of the 31 entries, only eight will not be on the German chassis; and only two will be on the once most popular Swiss Suter option. There are also three each Speed Up and Tech 3 chassis.
