me and Cory Graffunder had a
little battle there, but, overall, I'm
stoked on third."
Fourth place went to Max
Gerston, which made two Betas
in the top four.
"It was good all in all," said
Gerston. "I came into it ready to
go, feeling good, but I was strug-
gling during the day, practice
and hot laps. Just couldn't get
a good flow. I just couldn't quite
get the dirt figured out. The soil
was really weird. It would grab
your tires in weird, funny ways.
I ended up being able to some-
how pull it together for the main
event.
"I just kind of kept moving for-
ward. My fitness was on point. I
still felt strong at the end of the
15-lap main. All in all it's a great
start to the year and it's the best
finish I've ever had. Can't com-
plain, especially when I wasn't
feeling very good during the day,
so it's all good."
KTM rider Cory Graffunder
finished out the night in fifth,
while Rockstar Energy Husqvar-
na Factory Racing's Mike Brown
rounded out the top six after
turning the fastest time in the
morning hot lap session.
"The night was not so good,"
said Brown. "We went good all
day and then in the final we had
a few crashes and had a bit of
trouble with the bikes, so we'll
just move onto the next one." CN
