VOL. 52 ISSUE 9 MARCH 3, 2015 P95
Briefly...
In the Rekluse Expert-AA class,
round one winner, KTM rider Zach
Hayes, turned in another stellar ride
to win the class and also finish 13
th
overall. "I didn't get arm-pump this
time," said Hayes. "And I think that
helped me to build a lead in the
long first section." Second went to
DirtWise/Maxxis/KLIM's Drew Hig-
gins, while third was N-Fab AmPro
Yamaha's Ryan Belue.
Over 720 riders entered the Sand-
lapper Enduro, second in number
only to last month's record 825 rid-
ers at the Sumter, South Carolina
round.

A
ndrew DeLong had some-
thing to prove when he
lined up on row 28 at the
Sandlapper Enduro, round two of
the Kenda AMA National Enduro
Series. The defending champion
finished a disappointing eighth at
the series opener one month ear-
lier and he wasn't happy about it
one bit.
Cold temperatures and a
heavy rain storm moved into the
Pelion area the night before the
race and hovered overhead until
midmorning, leaving most of the
parking area and some of the
transfer trails a bit muddy, as 720
riders lined up to do battle over
77 miles of tight South Carolina
single-track. However, the sandy
terrain wound up being in near
perfect condition in most places,
