the track as they are under the
factory awning. They battled
tooth and nail for second place,
with Canard eventually making
a small off-track excursion that
ultimately gave the position to
Tomac.
"I went off the track with about
three laps to go and Tomac got
me." Canard said. "So, obviously
I'm disappointed with the night,
but you know, I can't be too dis-
appointed with a podium."
Canard added, "Tonight's
track was not a track to ride hard
on, it was just so easy to make
mistakes. I missed that back
rhythm two or three times, then I
really lost [Dungey]."
From Tomac's perspective the
night was much better than last
week's race, where he fell. "This
week was a big improvement for
me – I wasn't in the dirt," Tomac
said. "I was in the dirt, but I
wasn't touching it with my body.
So that was good!"
Finishing off the night in
second place, Tomac was still
noticeably disappointed. "It's a
second, but I feel like it was kind
of given to me," Tomac added.
"Yes, I would have gotten third
at least, but I don't know, I really
like to earn stuff."
UPS AND DOWNS
Two standout riders on the night
were RCH Suzuki's Broc Tickle
and Yoshimura Suzuki's Blake
Baggett. The two riders filled out
the top five, with Tickle grabbing
fourth – his best finish of the
year – and Baggett fifth. Both of
